Recording Artist Production Agreement (short form). [9 pages, MS Word]
This agreement is meant to be used by a producer, production company or independent record label to sign a recording artist and create master recordings, yet allow the company to either release the recordings itself, or license/sell the recordings to another company such as a major label. As the future is uncertain, it allows the company a little flexibility in future endeavors.
This agreement covers the major points of such a deal and is drafted in a “short form” to get the deal done, and the artist into the studio. Our long form agreement is more comprehensive and is preferred to be used when there is more time to negotiate the deal, or as a later and more comprehensive clarification of the complete deal, including major and minor points to the deal.
